Mountain Dew’s High-Octane New Ad is Nothing Short of an Action Blockbuster

Wunderman Thompson, In & Out Productions and Tim Kendall tell a missed train story like you’ve never seen before.

If you’ve ever missed a train, your likely response is probably to sigh, and simply wait for the next one. Mountain Dew’s latest ad, however, proves that there’s a much more exciting option. Creatively devised by Wunderman Thompson and produced by In & Out Productions, the spot follows a trio of friends who embark on a high-octane car chase to connect one man and his missed train.

Directed by Tim Kendall, the action-packed spot stars actors Fahad Mustafa, Ahad Raza Mir, and Aryaan Arora as the three men who bundle into their Jeep, grab a handful of Mountain Dews, and set out on an epic journey reflective of a Hollywood blockbuster. After crashing through construction work and encountering adorable wildlife, the trio are able to use a conveniently-placed ramp to dramatically launch the car into the air, placing them on top of the fast-moving train.

Looking back at the company’s journey since it was founded in 2005, president and EP Frida Sellar recalls a clear challenge that In & Out continues to rise to today. “If I had to put it in a single sentence”, she says, “I’d say we wanted to make peoples’ lives easier. Working in this industry you’ll always hear horrible stories about stuff going wrong around shoots. As a producer, my mind always went to ‘well the production team could have stopped that’, or worked around it in some way. So I decided to prove it, and we started In & Out”.

Stark PSA Captures the Dangerous Battle Between Covid Restrictions and Economic Disadvantage

In & Out Productions and director Daniel Azancot were approached by Alma with a script for the PSA. Working together closely to devise the best strategy, Daniel recognised that the key to the project was veracity. As such, In & Out focused on sourcing real life subjects for the spot, looking to hear their stories and everyday struggles. Shot entirely in Miami, the team reached out to charity associations, farming communities, and public services – as well as speaking to homeless people in the area – to find a cast of non-actors who could tell their stories in front of the camera.

That philosophy feels like a good way to describe In & Out director Daniel Azancot, who has never limited his own creativity to one particular artform. With a background in photography and theatre, Daniel is able to draw on a repertoire of skills to ensure each campaign is unique. 

That multi-faceted approach shines through in his work. Whether it be robots discovering the joy of dance or a family road trip featuring an enormous freshly-caught fish, you can never know quite where Daniel’s work is going to go – only that it’s going to be one heck of a ride.

Toyota’s New Corolla Cross Ad is a Musical Masterpiece Choreographed to Perfection

Packing that pleasure into one flawlessly choreographed spot, Burrell Communications and In & Out Productions are showcasing Toyota’s new Corolla Cross – a vehicle in which everything feels ‘Just Perfect.’

Directed by Daniel Azancot, the musical masterpiece stars influencer Aubrey Fisher and his dance crew as they prepare to zoom off on an adventure in the new Corolla Cross. From packing their suitcases into the boot, to opening the doors, to buckling their seat belts, each action is meticulously choreographed to the bouncing beat of ‘I Got It’ by Jung Youth and Jeremy Silver, with synchronised camera moves to match.
